There's not a lot of bender on these tunes, but Greg Harris does a great job on guitar....and as one of my cohort Fender steel players said, we found the mother lode.
Video of Sneaky is exceedingly rare, and suddenly an entire German club gig with one of the mid-80's band iterations - Sneaky, Harris, Skip and Jim Goodall - just friggin' drops out of the blue!
FWIW I think this is a superb rendition of Bugler (obviously the guy who posted it must be German...might have been the opening act). If you click "related videos" you'll find the rest - there are over a dozen songs, including Sneaky's take on Spittin' Image, which I only heard a few times (Cannonball Rag was often the opener for shows around this time.
This is just surreal. In one video you can see Sneaky flip the fuzz on and off.
When the link showed up on the Fender Steel Forum I think about 200 jaws hit the floor.

Forgot to write, only FBB LIVE albums were released with Greg, one of the best is "Close encounters of the west coast" aka "Live in Tokyo".
Greg recorded some great studio demos with the Burritos 1979, but all are unreleased. One duet with Gene Parsons "Please notify someone" written by Larry Murray. Greg also sings "Makin' it right" and "Ease on by you". Other musicians are Gib Guilbeau, Gene Parsons, Skip Battin, Sneaky Pete and Ed Ponder. Other songs lead vocals by Gib, Gene and Skip. |

That's got to be the biggest tone bar I've ever seen. Jim, do I recall you saying once that Sneaky's bar weighed over a pound? His tone is second to none, and his playing just makes you fall in love with pedal steel all over again.
Streets of Baltimore is as good as it gets in my book. Fantastic song! |
